I have spent most of my idle time in the past week reading and watching old documentaries about Mount St. Helens or as it was first known, Lawetlat'la. Honestly, I think I have watched about 20hrs worth of material about the volcano and the region and continue to research it. Its fascinating. As I grew up, I was a serious rockhound and loved mountains, earthquakes, and volcano books and movies.
I guess I haven't lost that. This EP was made in the same way the past few weeks have been. Two Nagras, a bunch of tape loops, an OP-1 and a bunch of live-streamed shenanigans as it all came together. The cover is from the accompanying video which I made alongside the EP. Included above... It is made from effected animations of tectonic plates and some of the aftermath of the eruption in 1980.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the loops...
